Harry Hansen, professor of art, has been a faculty member at the University of South Carolina in Columbia since 1970 where he teaches fundamentals of art and watercolor. Currently he is Director of Undergraduate Studies in Art and Associate Chair of the the Department of Art. He received a master of Fine Arts degree (MFA) from the University of Michigan in 1966 and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (BFA) from the University of Illinois in 1964.
Professor Hansen is a landscape painter and a watercolorist. He exhibits primarily within the Southeast and has had more that 100 exhibition of which 40 are one-man exhibitions. He has won more that 40 art awards including a grand prize and purchase award at the South Carolina State fair in 1987.
