Waltraud Fuchs von Schwarzbek was born into a family of artists in Bavaria, Germany and was exposed to fine art from an early age. A graduate of the prestigious National Academy of Art in Munich, she subsequently lived in many of Europe's famous art capitals, where she devoted much time to perfecting her techniques of painting floral art in the tradition of the old great masters. Her floral paintings have been published for over seven years and a full-color plate appeared in the 1997 North Light Book's "The Best of Flower Paintings." Famous for her commissioned portraits - of such celebrities as Harry S. Truman, John F. Kennedy, and Placido Domingo _ the artist strives "for utmost likeness of her clients." She also spent many years as prime art illustrator for famous motion picture companies such as Columbia Pictures, United Artists, and Warner Brothers. Her original works are represented in galleries and private collections on three continents - Europe, Australia, and North America
