SHADES OF SPRING by Sherry Masters
The daughter of an oil fields worker, Sherry Masters grew up in small towns throughout the South, from the hills of Tennessee, and as far North as the suburbs of Chicago. Sherry didn't have a very ordinary childhood, but it was an education in itself, teaching here how to adjust to new places and things and meeting new people.
A self-taught artist, Sherry Masters didn't discover her talent till her "thirty-something's". And coming from an artistic and musical family it came as no surprise. Her nostalgic landscapes and timeless ocean scenics have given her the opportunity to go places and meet people that she would never experienced otherwise.
When asked what inspires her most in her oil paintings, Masters says it is the things around her, such as the woods and creeks and the beautiful Appalachian Mountains where she lives. She believes her paintings are a reflection of more peaceful places and times, when people knew their neighbors and didn't lock their doors
