FAVORITES by Richard Newton.
Richard Newton Jr. was born in 1874 in New York City, where he also died in 1952. For many years he painted oil portraits of famous horses for their owners, receiving very large fees because of his talent for portraiture and his understanding of the anatomy of the horse. Mr. Newton exhibited on 57th Street and in galleries across the country, and had a large following of clients who awaited the opportunity to buy his next picture.
