As a child growing up in Wisconsin, artist Charly Palmer remembers the desire to paint landscapes; to capture the mood, the light and shadow of the land around him. He went on to discover more of his talent by attending the School of the Art Institute in Chicago and receiving a degree from the American Academy of Art.
The art of Charly Palmer has grown from landscapes to painting his favorite subject, people. His works communicate to the viewer the artist's pride in his people and his strong belief and love of God. Throughout the work, with the use of acrylic paint and marbleized paper, one will find words of inspiration, of strength and pride. There is no doubt to the viewer that for Palmer art is his life.
