As a child growing up in Wisconsin, artist Charly Palmer remembers the desire to paint landscapes; to capture the mood, the light and shadow of the land around him. He went on to discover more of his talent by attending the School of the Art Institute in Chicago and receiving a degree from the American Academy of Art. The art of Charly Palmer has grown from landscapes to painting his favorite subject, people. His works communicate to the viewer the artist's pride in his people and his strong belief and love of God. Throughout the work, with the use of acrylic paint and marbleized paper, one will find words of inspiration, of strength and pride. There is no doubt to the viewer that for Palmer art is his life. It is from his wife and his children that he finds his most inspiration, and it is love, God and hope that inspires him in life. The awards this artist has received for his work are numerous, including the 1996 Olympic Poster and again in 1998 the US Olympic Committee honored Palmer by selecting him to paint the US Olympic Poster for the Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan.
